It is our patent pending technology of interactive viewing and serving of imagery (the Image Web Server), whether georefernced or not, that provides this capability. Consequently, earth imagery, microfiche, consumer imagery (digital photos) and medical imagery are served using this product.

The Image Web Server leverages off Earth Resource Mapping's ECW Patented technology of wavelet transformation compression. Hence ECW compression format is served across the internet, in compressed format and all the decompression occurs in the user's application. Consequently anysize image can be 'streamed' over small bandwidth and large amounts of imagery are able to be served from small amounts of server hard disk space.

Our own website with over a terrabyte of imagery (uncompressed) on only 150Gb of hard disk space does just this. The recent award from the Australian Financial Review - Price Water House Cooper "Best Internet Application" gives an indication of the recognition of this software is now receiving. 85% of Earth Resource Mapping's revenue is from off shore, however all our development is undertaken in Perth Western Australia (though our web site is hosted in SanDiego).

Our clients range from image data suppliers (aerial photographers; satellite data suppliers) to medical imagery companies; telecommunications companies; real estate application providers, agricultural mapping services - including crop yeild prediciton/ insurance claim analysis; mining companies; governement - eg Dept of Land Administration WA; engineering companies eg Sinclair Knight Merz, LA Governement USA; etc etc. Also, we sell our software though a reseller distribution network throughout the world. Furthermore, as we integrate with the major geographical information system software vendor's applications (eg MapInfo Corporation, Troy NY), our technology is being incorporated into existing companies systems, without the need for their staff to 'learn' new applications.

We provide the image processing and compression desktop software. Our Image Web Server is then the tool to disseminate imagery to anyone. However an organisation can use a 'smart client' interface (in a browser and/or in an application) by incorporating XML, Coldfusion, HTML/ASP, Java Script (ie any standard web design tools) to build their user interface (and we provide them with samples on how to do this). Consequently the user can interface with a very simple 'viewing only' environment or a sophisticated metadata interconnectivity solution, such as a total precision farming solution.
