1.    Brief Product Description

ibCom's Online Business Management System; it will change the way you run your business and the way you think about software...

Our full online demonstration system can be accessed at http://ibCom.com.au  for the web browser version and http://ibCom.com.au/mobile  for a WAP compatible mobile phone (eg Nokia 7110). Online help is available by clicking the ‘Help’ menu item at the top of the screen. Online support is available by clicking the ‘Support’ menu item.

In November 2000 ibCom launched ibComOBMS, the “Pay by the Month” Online Business Management System.  With modules including Contacts, Projects, Financials, BAS Assistant and Pay Assistant, a small to medium sized business now has all the tools at their fingertips to better manage their business.

ibComOBMS is an integrated, easy to use application that is available securely over the Internet.  The business person can be at the office, at home, in the Qantas Club, overseas, basically anywhere,  and still have access to their business information!

With the recent introduction of WAP technology, contact, action/activity and core financial information is available via your WAP enabled mobile phone or PDA!

There are no up front fees, just a small monthly fee based on the number of users and which modules are used.

ibComSecurity supports the use of Digital ID’s for user authentication.  Digital ID’s are managed as personal certificates installed on a smart card and protected by a PIN.  ibComOBMS can then be loaded automatically without the need for a username and password to be remembered by the user.

The Innovation in the way we Support

As a centrally hosted application, ibComSupport can access the same information as the user at the same time, ensuring ibCom support services are significantly more effective and efficient than conventional support services.

ibComOBMS is used by all ibCom personnel. This means that all ibCom support staff have an excellent working knowledge of the product. They can provide not only technical support regarding how the system works, but advice as to how the system can be best used to assist a business.

As part of the monthly fee, users receive 2 hours of ibComSOS (Super Online Support) each month. As well as our 1300 131 848 number and support@ibCom.com.au email, there is extensive context sensitive help text throughout the system, as well as FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) and a web based form to log issues online.  Any issue logged is immediately emailed to ibComSOS staff for investigation.  Out of business hours an ibComSOS team member is automatically notified via an SMS message on their mobile phone to ensure a timely response.

3. Performance

Technical

As a highly optimised web based application, based on Microsoft DNA technology, little bandwidth is required (ie 14.4kbps) and the application can scale to thousands of users. As a web browser based application ibComOBMS is not as effected by network latency as some connection oriented applications can be - to the point where whilst editing an application form the Internet connection can be disconnected and then reconnected when saving is required, with application state information being retained.

Since its release late last year and launch at the Business Software World in Sydney, ibComOBMS has received excellent feedback with several business signalling their intentions to use the service.

i bComOBMS has been created purely for use over the internet as a “Pay by the Month” application.  Customers do not have to install anything on their machines and upgrades to the modules are accessible immediately they are released to the production website, so users have no need to understand how to load software at all!  As long as they have an internet browser and a connection to the internet, they can access ibCom.com.au and their business information.

“Pay by the Month” offers an affordable way for small / medium business to access CRM, Financials, Budgeting, Project Management and Payroll functionality integrated into ibComOBMS that would otherwise be unaffordable as separately purchased software.  This gives the small / medium business an edge over their competitors. 

ibCom is an Internet Business Applications Provider (IBAP). The difference between an IBAP & an ASP? ibCom hosts applications that we have natively written for the Web and are delivered via a browser, as opposed to applications that are taken off the shelf and modified for delivery in a hosted environment.
