Innovation

Bookmaster is an industry-specific solution for publishers and distributors and is one of only two worldwide packages for this industry. It includes a number of unique features and modules such as Academic Sales. It is the only book industry specific ERP to incorporate integrated warehouse management, e-commerce, business intelligence and CRM (due June 2002).

Powermaster is one of very few distribution and manufacturing solutions to include integrated distribution, manufacturing, financials, DRP, e-commerce, business intelligence and CRM (due June 2002) in one integrated solution 100% designed, developed, implemented and supported by one vendor. It also includes unique modules such as Rebate Management.

Potential

Other information the judges should know

Both versions of the system have significant commercial success.

Bookmaster is used in more countries worldwide than any competing solution in its niche, is one of the top two worldwide by number of customers and is a strong market leader in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and South Africa. It is used in 14 countries and has major customers such as HarperCollins, Pan Macmillan, Butterworths (7 countries), Pearson Education (4 countries), McGraw-Hill (4 countries), Thomas Nelson (4 countries), Harvard, Yale, MIT, Columbia and Johns Hopkins University Presses and many more.

Powermaster is used in Australia and Europe by by major companies like JVC, Hagemeyer, Panasonic, Sanyo, Pioneer Electronics, Minolta, Maxell, Smeg, Daewoo Electronics, Makita and Solectron Global Services.

Because both are comprehensive integrated systems they are easier and more economical to implement that competing ERP systems. Of the last 26 sites to be implemented by TMS, all but 3 have gone live on schedule, with the longest delay being one month.

TMS has succeeded against major opposition, replacing JD Edwards at Sanyo and Thomson Singapore, replacing Oracle Financials at Butterworths Australia and winning against SAP at Sanyo, Macmillan, Struik Publishing, Nasionale Boekhandel, Pearson New Zealand and HarperCollins.

TMS is a finalist in the Western Sydney IT & Export Awards in 2002, was featured in "The best IT&T companies in Australia" book in 2001. Macmillan Distribution Services recently won the Logistics Association of Australia's "Distribution Centre of the Year" award for its new distribution centre driven by Bookmaster Warehouse Management.
