BizWise™ is a business performance intelligence solution enabling organisations to combine planning and data analysis for developing strategic and tactical goals, and track progress toward meeting those goals using financial and operational metrics. The technology foundation of BizWise™ is a J2EE-compliant application framework featuring XML and web services data integration with third party systems. BizWise™ complies and takes advantage of the BPM Standards Group’s methodologies and guidelines. It features advanced US military-strength Verisign™ PKI security protocols, based on a multiple-tier information and data security architecture. BizWise™ can be easily implemented in-house and is also available as a fully hosted solution.

Innovation

BizWise™ delivers an integrated view of organisational performance, either intra-enterprise or across segments or the whole value chain of an organisation. This is a bold concept and has the potential for redefining how organisations manage their performance in the future. The concept of ‘Collaborative Benchmarking™’ is innovative and was enabled using innovative methods of adapting web-based computing to fulfil the vision of the product design.

Rather than providing web-based survey forms (which is the core capability of many industry-wide benchmarking services to-date), BizWise™ introduces advanced data warehousing capabilities both downstream (i.e. applied within the organisation) and upstream (value chain or industry-wide).

BizWise™ is the subject of several patent applications.

Performance

BizWise™ rigorously complies with J2EE standards. All product components are independently verified and appropriately licensed in terms of the commercial re-use of any adopted open source code.

The development team has a cumulative experience in software design, development and implementation exceeding fifty (50) years in total. Six core team members comprised the development team, with another five team members complementing quality assurance.

The latter comprised of industry professionals in the areas of (a) supply chain management, (b) sales & marketing, (c) human resources and (d) financial management.

Customer pilot testing is currently in progress with two Australian manufacturers and one large international insurer is expected to be concluded by end March 2005.

Potential

BizWise™ has received early recognition by industry groups. The development team is currently extending its use for overseas markets.

BizWise™ complies with methodologies and standards championed by the BPM Standards Group, comprising of large multinational corporations such as IBM, SAP, IDC, etc.

The business plan of BizWise™ identifies vertical markets to be pursued domestically and overseas.

The original concept for BizWise™ was developed in early 2002. The core team identified the value of a more collaborative and technology-enabled way of benchmarking as a result of their respective experiences in their employment. 

Mr. Andi Luiskandl for an example, E-Novation’s Founder and CEO, worked for over eight years with Coca-Cola (both for Coca-Cola International and Coca-Cola Amatil in Australia) and learned to appreciate the value-add of more structured and collaborative forms to manage organisational performance in both demand and supply chain management processes. Other directors and team members had similar experiences in other business disciplines (i.e. financial management, human resources, sales, etc.), and the result was a team effort to design and actually develop a solution that is able to meet the related needs.

When Andi successfully led and implemented Dairy Farmers’ electronic business program, which was awarded with the MIS Innovation Award in 2003 (Extranet Category), he and the team felt confident and ready to deliver a solution that met the various challenges bringing the BizWise™ solution to market.
