Product Description
ConnXion™ is a new innovation that enables organisations to reduce costs and streamline their business processes through document production and intelligent multi-channel delivery.
ConnXion is a hosted service that produces documents such as invoices, statements, reminder letters, remittance advices, reports and regulatory notices then delivers them across multiple channels including email, fax, SMS and paper/post.
If for example, an organisation sends their customer an invoice via email and the customer’s email address bounces back, ConnXion™ will automatically re-direct that invoice through to the next designated delivery channel, creating one fully integrated, automated and seamless document management process.
Developed fully within Australia, the ConnXion hosted service is being used by a number of blue-chip companies including, DHL, Smorgon Steel, TAB NSW and Budget Rent-a-Car. New customers are signing up each and every month to take advantage of the cost reduction (potentially in excess of 60%), improved cash-flow and enhanced productivity that the ConnXion hosted service provides.
ConnXion has been built using Java technology and documents are generated using XSL:FO, which is a new technology that has been promulgated by the World Wide Web Consortium, allowing document representation in a media independent format. “Intelligent” documents are produced and delivered by ConnXion with additional capabilities that automate electronic payment and workflow processes (such as queries and approval), including signature authentication that leads to a highly intelligent document management processes.
The ConnXion technology is unique and innovative with significant global potential. Competitively, ConnXion has a leadership position in the market today, which can be enhanced further based on our current technology and commercialisation roadmap.

Innovation
The unique innovation of ConnXion is that it is the only system available today that will validate successful delivery of a complex business document and, where failure occurs, automatically “redirect” to a subsequent user determined preference. Combining this with the capability to receive data in any format from any customer system without requiring change or integration, high precision document production containing text and images all formatted exactly to the user’s requirements and the flexibility to offer seamless integration into ePayment and workflow systems, all contribute to our current competitive advantage.
It is the combination of these capabilities that have patent pending status and to replicate would require years of development time and investment.
Today ConnXion has a global leadership position. The ConnXion platform will allow for any future digital document technology, whether from Adobe, Microsoft or any new entrant to be managed, processed and delivered. The ConnXion roadmap is well established.
The business model is both one of transactional based licensing and as an Application Service Provider.

Performance
The production of critical business documents on paper and delivery by post is one of the oldest and most costly processes within business today. Mail Houses have prospered. Internal systems have attempted to migrate delivery to electronic means with disappointing results. One of the reasons has been timing of market acceptance, more importantly past and current systems efforts have been proprietary and costly, document production quality has been inconsistent, unreliable and with high risk, and integration into other business processes has been almost impossible.
ConnXion is the answer guaranteeing the ultimate delivery of consistent and high precision documents. The set up cost is negligible and savings are gained immediately. Standard costing metrics and real experience demonstrate that ConnXion delvers cost savings of in excess of 60%, improvement in cash flow and business productivity.
Competition is from traditional Mail Houses offering partial electronic solutions and numerous software vendors addressing specific aspects of the ConnXion capabilities. Some offer email management, others document production techniques that enable intelligent marketing, while new delivery channel providers offer low cost solutions. No vendor or service provider, other than Trade Wind Communications offers all combined capabilities today!
The business driver for ConnXion today is cost reduction, cash flow improvement and productivity gains. Once the ConnXion platform and system is in place and the environment moves at a faster rate towards the adoption of smart digital documents with their own integrated work flow processes, the opportunity for ConnXion to be pivotal and at the core of the business increases. (Ref: Consider an intelligent application form that a Bank sends to a client who fills in part and forwards to their Accountant who completes and forwards back to the Bank. Digital signatures have been authenticated and at no time has anyone had to save the document or print it.)
The ConnXion technology is now at a level of maturity, at version 2.8 and with an existing customer base including leading organizations such as TAB NSW, Smorgon Steel, DHL, Nalco, Budget Rent a Car, and a few others, having signed up for long-term contracts utilizing the hosted ASP model.

Potential
To date the focus has been Australia, although this is already spreading to Asia Pacific. As the primary business driver today is cost reduction, the target has been at the CFO level. A focused telemarketing campaign has brought about 30% plus interest from those targeted. A direct sales team is now in place and sales from clients such as DHL will be leveraged across their industry.
An indirect channel is in the early stages of development with significant interest and agreement with Xpedite Systems, local and international Mail Houses and Outsourcers.
The process for growth will be by leveraging existing customers and referenceability, scale through partnership arrangements locally and internationally, and uncover new channels in global markets.
Current plans are to initiate an Asian presence via selected existing customers, such as DHL and Nalco. This will be followed simultaneously by presence in Europe via a Joint Venture currently under consideration and negotiation, and the USA via the establishment of a direct presence.
The primary target market is the B2B Supply Chain. Industry sectors such as Freight & Logistics and Manufacturing/Wholesale/Distribution are seen as early adopters. The market is ready.
A patent application has been registered for ConnXion and its associated IP. The application is pending.
