Dental 4 Windows was the first Australian Practice Management System released for Windows 3.1 back in 1994, it was the first Client/Server with SQL database engine Practice Management System in the world back in 1997 and was recently the first to be available for Windows Server 2003. “This long-term exceptional experience with the Windows operating system has aided us in our efforts to make sure our software and underlying architecture is the most compatible and scalable in the industry” says Michael Sokol, Director.

D4W Practice Management Software is based on true CLIENT/SERVER technology, which supports Wide Area Networking. Client/Server system architecture is still used widely in the dental industry. This proven approach is robust and reliable and commands a huge share of the market compared to the latest 3 tier web technology.

To date, D4Ws is the only dental practice management software package on the market that has the capability to scale from a single workstation system to a very large multiple site system with 100’s of workstations accessing the central server. For example, our largest customer in Perth - DB Dental Group of clinics, has 12 locations across the city with around 40 PCs working with real time connection to a single server DB. The system was specifically designed as a dental practice management system and is famous for its ease of use and best support on the market.

The software was also built with multi-lingual engine, and is currently available in 4 languages: English, Thai, Russian and Chinese.

Our largest overseas-based D4W user is in Moscow with over 30 workstations installed in Koroliev dental hospital. D4W is the only foreign dental software company on the market in Russia and other CIS countries in the region. Over the years, our user base in Eastern Europe has grown to over 300.

The core of the system contains multi-discipline functionality and allows D4W to be adapted easily to other related professions, such as Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, Podiatrists, etc. We have over 50 non-dental customers using the related “sister” product called – Practice Studio SQL. This software has the same core program as D4W and the Data Base engine setup controls the interface with the users.

Over 1300 dental practices in Australia, New Zealand and other countries around the world are using Dental 4 Windows SQL. D4W is a leader in both – large corporate dental groups (Primary Health, Pacific Smiles, Life Care, etc), government clinics (Westmead Hospital, Newcastle University, Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, etc.), and general private dental clinic markets.

In 2001, Centaur Software saw potential in providing better software for Australian health practitioners.

A quantum leap was taken to release Practice Studio SQL, a product providing state of the art Practice Management Solution to all Allied Health Medical Practices. The software relies on a proven technology incorporated in the Dental 4 Windows SQL software to meet the needs of the new non-dental markets.

Practice Studio Software provides a low-cost universally accessible system for a diverse user population including Physiotherapists, Naturopaths, Chiropractors, Acupuncture, Podiatrists, Psychologists, Dietitians, Speech Pathologists, Osteopaths, Psychotherapists, Homeopaths, Remedial massage, etc

The system supports full range of clinical and patient related activity, such as general practice management, treatment notes and history, scheduling and appointment management. It also takes care of all financial, administration and business management tasks including accounts, receipts, banking, practice marketing, referrals, recalls, patient correspondence, stock control and many more.

The product is totally modular and can be offered as individual components, meeting needs of various users managing a single or a multi-specialist practice operating in single or multiple physical locations.

Given a multi-language engine capability of the software and its leading position in the Australian markets, there is a great potential for both D4W and PSS software to sell in other overseas markets such as Great Britain, Asia (including China), Gulf region and others where the markets for dental software are not very mature and are still growing rapidly and developing.

Another complimentary addition to our product line coming on board this year is our Media Suite SQL product. This product will enhance image/voice and video management and editing capabilities at dental clinics. It will be offered as a stand alone product and can also be fully imbedded and integrated into the D4W and Practice Studio Software.
