Alan Manly has had over twenty years business experience in technology, marketing and management. His career with Digital Equipment Corporation over a period of eight years ranged from a computer engineer to being responsible for the marketing of services in Australia and New Zealand.
He was a founding Director of a software company that developed and sold computerised freight tracking and integrated management systems used by major independent freight companies.
Alan was a Director of a Sydney based business college. Under his direction the company became globally focused resulting in the college growing from 60 students to over 1400 students from 40 countries. He has delivered papers on trading in China and India.
He is a former Director of the Australian Council of Private Education and Training, the industry association representing over 200 private colleges in Australia. He represented the industry before the Senate supporting the introduction of government supervised trust accounts for student funds.
His is currently Managing Director of Group Colleges Australia, a company that has raised public and private funding to develop distance education using the Internet. Group Colleges are the first private college in Australia to implement distance learning via the Internet to overseas students.
He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Justice of the Peace.
