He started his career in Australia as technical support engineer for a software solution provider to building industry using CAD design tools, 3D Modelling and asset management. In 1993, he started working for various New South Wales government agencies as database manager, system analyst and later IT manager. Since 2000, Ali has been the Manager of Information Technology Services at New South Wales Parliament. He has the responsibility of developing the strategic and tactical plan for the Parliament’s use of information technology. His client group is comprised of Members of both Houses of the Parliament, electorate offices across New South Wales, Committees and Parliament House support services. Ali is a member of the Australian Computer Society. |

Ali Shariat
Ali has been in the IT industry for almost 20 years. He gained his Bachelor of Engineering in Control and Computer Engineering in London, UK and immigrated to Australia in 1990 after working as a software engineer in a consulting firm in Cambridge.
