New Zealand Trade & Enterprise

Don Rae has worked in the ICT sector since 1987 in a wide variety of roles ranging from marketing to e-business strategy and development.

As ICT Sector Manager at New Zealand Trade & Enterprise (NZTE), Don works at senior level with leading ICT companies including Jade Software Corporation, Tait Electronics and Humanware. He also works in business development with multi-nationals and offshore businesses to bring New Zealand technology to the marketplace. He holds onshore responsibility for New Zealand ICT companies operating in South/South East Asia, the global lead role in the New Zealand ICT Transport & Logistics vertical, while also having a support role in the New Zealand Health IT vertical. He has organised the New Zealand Pavilions at the CommunicAsia trade event in Singapore 2005/6, and is actively involved with the tech sector as a current board member (Secretary) of Canterbury Software Inc. Prior to joining NZTE, Don led e-business development at Tait Electronics.

He was Judge NZ Hi-Tech Awards 1998-2005, convenor of the Awards judging panel in 2005 and also a member of 2004 and 2005 Organising Committees.

His major interests are golf (member of Christchurch Golf Club since 1972), skiing, tramping, reading, music and technology.
