Geoff Bowker is an independent consultant in technology commercialisation, organisational analysis and design, software project management, software quality management, organisational capability assessment and improvement (SEI CMMI and CMM, SPICE), market analysis, SME business development and software analysis, design and verification methods.  He was previously the Director, Investments at ITem3, a BITS program IT&C industry incubator and managed the incubation technology startup companies.  Prior to co-founding ITem3, Geoff was Executive Director of Software Engineering Australia (NSW), the NSW node of the national technology support network established by the Commonwealth to improve the capabilities of the Australian software industry.

 Geoff has held senior management, technical and management consulting, project management, software/systems development, technical sales and technical education roles in the telecommunications, telecommunications IT, government and defence, industrial automation and control, banking and finance IT, biomedical engineering, and tertiary education industry sectors.  He has had an active involvement in software industry and professional groups, standards development groups, post-graduate education, research and government advisory panels and as an organiser and speaker of software and quality conferences and events.
