After completing a Bachelor of Applied Science, Information Management and a Masters in Education, Policy and Administration, Ian has worked in a variety of roles in education and training, systems analysis and design, network administration and the management of technology services. As the Manager of Technology Services within the State Library of Victoria, Ian is responsible for maintaining and developing the technology infrastructure of the Library and the content development and management of State Library of Victoria ‘online’ activities. Ian is also involved in the development of Experimedia and the Technology and Learning Centre as part of the State Library of Victoria building redevelopment. Some of the projects Ian is currently involved in include the introduction of Internet Protocol Telephony throughout the organisation, deployment of thin client architecture including ‘smart card’ user authentication systems and involvement in the development of a Cultural Broadband Network linking Victorian cultural institutions. Ian enjoys golf and tennis and is looking forward to the birth of his second child. |
