In business, ICT and consulting roles Julie Cameron has frequently been involved in developing, selecting, reviewing and implementing software products. Assessment of the quality (and in particular the "fitness" for purpose and "useability") of software and other ICT products, and the impact of their use on stakeholders within organisations and the community has been a pivotal aspect of much of her work over the last 15 years. 

Types of software evaluated have ranged from accounting packages for SME's, to Customer Relationship Management systems, to ebusiness products used for Straight Through Processing by multiple organisations throughout a trading chain.Julie's experience in the ICT industry has included policy, strategic development, consultancy, project management and senior executive roles, including time as the Chief Information Officer in the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority. 

Prior to managing ICT, she was an executive in private and public sector organisations. Since 1994, her specialisation in ebusiness has included managing large projects in the trade and transport, superannuation and government sectors of the Australian economy.

Since 1986 Julie has been a member of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) Working Groups on Computers and Society. In recognition of her contribution she won an IFIP Outstanding Service Award in 1989. She has published widely and is frequently invited to speak at international conferences. Currently, in addition to her role in Info.T.EC Solutions Pty Ltd (which she founded in 1990), she is completing a PhD degree (in Computer Science and Engineering) at the University of New South Wales, Sydney.
