Keith cut his IT teeth as a trainee programmer with AMP back in the early 1970’s when computers were real – if a bit slow! In his 20 technical years he worked with a variety of applications including superannuation, diagnostic software for pathology equipment and developing options pricing software for a bank. In the early 1980’s he designed and developed a normalised data dictionary for the Mars Group and, towards the end of his ‘technical time’, he led the application support division for ACT Financial Systems. Keith moved into software sales in 1988, making the technical to people transition with only a little pain. Since then, Keith has worked in Business Development (both within IT and in other industry sectors) but always with very strong links to the IT industry. He had a wonderful 5 years with international productivity experts, Priority Management. During this time he helped many individuals and teams discover the processes that allowed them to achieve more with less, manage change and enjoy life. Keith, along with two teammates, achieved recognition over three years for being the top sales performers in this worldwide network. In the late 1990’s he started a 6-year stint in IT Recruitment – to get closer to the industry again as well as to help business find the right technical resources they sorely needed. In this time, he forged links with offshore suppliers and added a ‘bit of quality’ for his clients. Keith now works with Chubb Electronic Security in an industry that is fast-paced, under-resourced and strongly IT and technology dependent. Business needs to know who is where, at what time and needs the technologies to manage complex interactions of physical security, access control and surveillance data. There is a great synergy and opportunity to bring direct IT experience to this industry at this time. Keith actively supports community initiatives through committee work with his local sports club. He also chaired the management committee for Friends of STARTTS for a number of years. FOS is a charity that supports the work of Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors. |
